Danolloxacin and enrolloxacin are fluorinated quinolone car boxylic acid derivatives of similar structure which were developed for use exclusively in animals, like other fluoroqui nolones, they exhibit a wide spectrum of antimicrobial activity, including some Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and Mycoplashto. By inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase, these synthetic drugs act as bactericidal antimicrobials at relatively low concentrations, in particular against Gram - negative bacteria (Brown, 1996)
